Built to Last and Easy To Use: Our Electric Motor Recycling Machines
Recycle Your Own Electric Motors
Inside discarded electric motors are valuable copper and aluminum components. These motors are constructed with sturdy shells of steel to protect the delicate wiring and parts within. Only rugged, specialized equipment can split those casings to recover the inner metals. Solid Equipment Company’s electric motor recycling machines are capable of splitting even the toughest motors for recycling.
Stop sending your motors overseas — make the maximum profit by purchasing your own electric motor wrecker. Call us today at 866-948-5406 or fill out our online form to get started!
How Do You Recycle Motors?
Tough cast iron or aluminum shells typically encase valuable copper and aluminum components, appearing impenetrable. The electric motor recycling machine’s three-step process preserves the reusable components from the casings and internal structure.

Double Platform, 480v 3 phase machine.
Typically, valuable copper and aluminum components are shrouded in tough cast iron or hard aluminum outer casings that, at first glance, seem impenetrable. With the electric motor recycling machine’s three-step process, the reusable components can be rescued from the casings and internal structure to yield these highly valuable components.
Triple Platform Electric Motor Recycling Machine
Triple platform – This setup is three separate platforms: two hydraulic presses and one copper extraction platform. One press is for cracking the cast, one press is for splitting the stators, and the final platform extracts the copper.
All the different setups have the same components to service the same function. The more platforms you have, the quicker the process is and the more production you can handle.
Double Platform Electric Motor Recycling Machine
The machine is basically split in two. The hydraulic press or cracking/splitting platform is separate from the copper extraction platform. Each unit has its own motor and can be independent of the other. See the pictures below. The dimensions of each platform are 47 inches by 27 inches by 86 inches, 1,800 pounds for the cracking/splitting platform and 70 inches by 41 inches by 82 inches 2,700 pounds for the copper extraction platform.
How Recycling Motors Works
Before mechanically recycling the electric motor, remove and set aside outer pieces and attachments by unscrewing them.
This industrial electric motor recycling machine employs a three-stage process to harvest the valuable material within.
Stage One
The operator uses the splitting apparatus to apply high pressure, cutting and peeling away the casing to expose the stator and remove the anchor/rotor.
Stage Two
Cleaving of the stator exposes the copper coils to prepare them for the separation from the remaining parts and materials.
Stage Three
The third stage of the process involves pulling the copper wiring away from the surrounding metal through which it had been threaded by means of a complex hydraulic system. Teeth grip the winding and pushing rods push the housing away, leaving the copper wiring fully exposed and unattached.
The Result
A volume of valuable copper wiring cleanly separated from a pile of scrap metal and plastic that may also be recycled.
Exclusive North American Distributor of O’Jung Electric Motor Recyclers
At Solid Equipment Company, we are proud to be the exclusive North American distributor of the O’Jung electric motor recycling machine. This innovative system revolutionizes copper and aluminum extraction from electric motors, transforming a labor-intensive process into simple, repeatable steps.
Your company can process electric motors in-house and maximize copper and aluminum scrap returns with our electric motor recycling system. Scrap metal prices fluctuate constantly, and our equipment allows you to extract the maximum profit and stay profitable even as prices dip a bit.
As electric vehicle sales grow and older equipment retires, efficient recycling processes will become increasingly critical. Stay ahead of the increasing demand for cost-effective recycling of electric vehicle components by investing in an electric motor recycling machine.
The O’Jung electric motor recycler pays for itself by increasing the speed and efficiency of metal extraction at your facility. Where processing a single motor previously took over an hour, a skilled operator can now process more than 20 motors per hour with our unique system. The process is safer, semi-automated, and ergonomically designed to reduce worker fatigue and repetitive stress.
Elevate your electric motor recycling with an O’Jung recycler from Solid Equipment Company. Contact our team to learn more about the system. We’ll guide you through its features and benefits and can arrange a demonstration to show its effectiveness in person.

Frequently Asked Questions About Electric Motor Recycling Equipment
Electric motors have aluminum and copper components inside that have a high value. When they are no longer functional, recycling them allows those components to be salvaged. However, this requires specialized machinery because the steel shells that protect the wiring inside are pretty hard to break. Electric motor recycling machines break those shells to separate the copper and aluminum components.
Electric motor recycling is a three-step process:
- You must crack the outer cast on the motor.
- You must split the stators.
- You must extract aluminum and copper.
With the help of an electric motor recycling machine, this process will help you get the valuable portions out of the device.
We offer two types of electric motor recycling systems. These are:
- Double platform equipment – This system has two motors with a different platform for copper extraction and cast cracking.
- Triple platform equipment – This system has three motors, so it can break the cast, split the strators, and extract the precious metals all on one machine.
